I have a NYS drivers license valid til 2015.
However, my working visa expired and am now living in Japan. Can I still use this license with my old NY address to rent a car in Hawaii?
I’m going for vacation and want to make sure I can use this license instead of getting an international permit of my Japanese license. with this Real ID Act or whatever.

Note that if your legal residence is not at the address on the license, then the license is not technically valid, so if you get into an accident then this may cause complications.

U can use your NYC drivers license if its still valid, the Real ID act will not take effect until officially on December 19, 2009
