I rented a car a few years ago (in Ireland) and the child seat they gave me was totally inadequate and not in the least bit safe. This year we are going to Italy, and now need two car seats, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a hire firm who give you decent child seats?
If it matters, we are picking up from Pisa airport.
You do know that airlines don’t and can’t charge for a child seat to go in the hold, so it might be better taking your own with you, that’s what I usually do.
It’s a bit of a pain, but at least you know it’s going to fit your child, and you know how to fit it properly into the rental car.
I’ve seen some of the car seats available with Avis at Gatwick and to my surprise they stocked some of the more expensive and user friendly seats.

I recommend using a well known company such as alamo, avis, thrifty ect. Do a google search and you can ring up the main office of these companies based in pisa and they can explain their safety seat procedures.
