Yes, 10/28 was a Sunday, I stand corrected. These must have been from 10/27.

According to my research from Google, the NYC Marathon was held on 10/28/84 (which is unusual knowing that it usually is the first Sunday in November). But it would also explain the dating as far as the ads went. Some more interesting facts I got, it was a hot and humid day, in the upper 70s, and a Frenchman died of a heart attack during the race.

Sorry Dan but 10/28 was a Sunday in 1984, not Saturday.You can check any online calendar. Yes the promos were left over from the movie club vid.
So my question remains, what day was the NYC Marathon? I can’t seem to find any info online.

The WNEW promos appears to come from the Channel 5 Movie Club “2001″ you posted earlier. I commented the ads were from October 28,1984, seeing as the Channel 5 Movie Club aired Saturdays at 11PM, and 10/28 was a Saturday.
