Can you rent a standard transmisson car?

Posted by admin on January 12th, 2011 and filed under rent a car | 6 Comments »

Do any rental companys rent standard transmisson cars?

Yes. Its uncommon to have a standard transmission in a rental car due to the fact that some people cant drive them, and everyone that can drive a standard can drive a automatic. Also the rental car companies don’t want to have to worry about someone over revving the car, or the clutch going bad. Automatics are just more cost efficient for them

can you rent a car at 19 years old and if so what rental companys do so?

No chance at 19 I’m afraid due to the insurers of the hire companies restrictions.

how to rent car in USA for discount prices?

Posted by admin on January 1st, 2011 and filed under rent a car | 3 Comments »

I wanna go for a holiday trip in USA. 7 days trip. Want to know which is the best rental car provider in USA

Rental cars companies are all so different, you just need to go through Expedia, that type of search engine. The major car rentals are Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, etc.

Renting a car for 7 days is cheaper, so you should get a very good deal! The expensive stuff is when you’re signing the contract at the counter. They throw in all this other stuff you don’t need. First of all, you don’t need insurance if your regular car insurance has rental on it already (not sure how that works if you’re not from the US – I would call my car insurance company to find out). If you don’t have car insurance then you’ll need to get the car rental insurance they offer!!!!

The other thing to watch out for is the gas fill-up clause (costs extra). Before you turn your car in at the end of the trip, just fill it up yourself (there’s a gas station at every corner) & you won’t be charged an outragous amount by the car rental folks to fill it up for you when you turn it in.

Basically, you’ll rarely get the car you expect, they never have the one you booked and try to give you something you don’t want, then they’ll hopefully offer you an upgrade. This is standard, and I’m not sure why this is, but a silly game the car rental companies do, so just expect it.

Then they’ll throw in so many extra charges, your head will be spinning. Just watch out for those extra charges for insurance & extra gas fill-up by them.

As far as there being a best car rental, it varies from week to week with the offers. Enterprise, Hertz, & Budget are the 3 I’ve used the most. The best offers and availabilty are at the airports, so you shouldn’t have any problems getting a car from the airport. Like I said, watch out for those extra charges they try to hit you with!!

Good Luck and have fun!!

How to rent car with debit visa?

I live in Puerto Rico and I an 21 yrs old but dont have a credit card… i have a debit visa… which companies rent to drivers less than 25 yrs old and which companies can let me reserve and rent with a debit visa?

I’m Pretty sure that EZ Rent a Car will allow you to do that. So long as your Debit car has a Visa sign on the front, then there shouldn’t be a problem with any company, I wouldn’t think. Hope this helps and good Luck.

how to rent a car from an owner just for three months?

Posted by admin on December 21st, 2010 and filed under rent a car | 1 Comment »

i want to rent a just for three months in delaware state, is that possible? or is there any place i could make the deal except the rent car company?

I guess if you have someone willing to lend you their car they need to add you to their insurance for those 3 months OR have your own insurance that covers that.

I’ve never heard of that legally happening.

maybe you can borrow someones car

other than that yeah you have to rent from a company

If you behold a driving license from any country and if you are coming under the required age group to rent a car then obviously you can rent a car. Even I know a company named www.switzerlandcarsrental.com providing car rental facility with a good and appropriate quality. This is a local company for Switzerland But it also contains a global search provider. go for it.

How many miles would you have to drive for it to be cheaper to rent a car from Elvis in this problem?

Posted by admin on December 16th, 2010 and filed under rent a car | 1 Comment »

Two car companies Elvis and Hearts rent cars. The Elvis car costs 30 dollars plus 20 cents per mile. The Hearts car costs 50 dollars with 50 free miles and then costs 15 cents per mile. On scratch paper graph the cost against distance driven for both companies.

Elvis cost:
30 + 0.20m
Hearts cost:
50 + 0.15(m – 50)
Equate the two:
30 + 0.2m = 50 + 0.15(m – 50)
0.05m = 12.5
m = 250mi
Elvis is cheaper with mileage under 250mi
