I wanna know (from personal experience only) if these companies are good to work for. I’m trying to help my cousin find a decent, clean, good paying job. He was a cart attendent at Sam’s Club and they treated him like crap! Here’s my list on nearby businesses…..
Sears
Movie Theaters
Staples
Lowes
Home Depot
Office Depot
Pet Smart
Barnes and Nobles
Office Max
Discount Auto Parts
Hertz Rent a Car
Walgreens
CVS
Any good shops to work for in the mall??
L.A.Fitness (Do you need experience?)
Starbucks
Just for Feet
Publix (I hear the pay is not good but great company)
Walden Books
I just need a list of good jobs. If you’ve had a bad experience with a certain company, I’d appreciate to hear about it so I can tell him to avoid it. I’ve worked in fast food and my sister in retail so we told him not to work in Ross, Bealls, all fast food franchises. He’s applied at Target but it seems they won’t call him back. He’s shy so little interaction would be best. Thanks.
No movie theatres!! Don’t bother with them. i’ve worked for one for over 3 years only because i couldn’t find a better job. The pay is super low, no matter what job you’re doing there. It was AMC that i worked for. Too many headaches for such little pay.

I am in search of ways that I can rent a car for cheaper than the asking price and the discounts that are offered by the car rental places. Please help me and let me know if I can use this tip nationwide.
If you go to bigger name hotels (Renaissance, JW Marriotts, Ritz, Hilton) the concierge knows most of the car rentals managers in the area and usually they get better deals for car rentals for their guest.

The rental store called the tow truck who happened to be passing my location. The car was a K-Car. The total tow was 10 miles, and the rental shop got a steep discount as a business from whom the tow man received much commerce. Here’s the real question: In 1987, how much would such a tow have cost me–i.e. what would the non-discounted price have been?
Weird question? Answer 1 was a weird answer! Please don’t presume you know the motive of the asker. In this case, you have a fiction writer trying to get something (remotely) right.
Thanks!
Back then (in Wisconsin) I helped out part time at my fathers service station. We used to charge between $25.00 and $30.00 for this easy of a call, however back then you did not need to use a wrecker for most services (as cars had REAL bumpers). When it was necessary for us to use a wrecker, probably $50.00 as it was more trouble. Hope this helps.

Know, know! Just how much would the cost be?
(An arm and a toe was a good answer though!)
I would guess you were in the rental car and the rental company had to pay if they got the discount…so you had to pay nothing

I am going to California in a couple weeks and staying with my extensive family out there as I travel the entire state. I would like to rent a car but I am only 18. If I have permission from my parents (and their credit card) can I rent a car? Could I have my family in Cali rent the car for me?
And can I take that car into Mexico for a couple days? I am looking at Avis since I found a really great discount code online but I don’t see anything in the conditions that says I can’t go to Mexico. I’m having a lot of difficulty finding a straight answer to this anywhere online. Thanks in advance
Only a handful of companies rent to people under 25, and of those that do, many don’t rent to people under 21. The only company I know of that rents to 18 years is EZ Rent a Car. http://www.e-zrentacar.com/underage_car_rentals.html?age=21&ratecode=CPT
I don’t know if EZ Rent a Car allows their cars to be driven to Mexico, but there are some car companies that do, so don’t believe all the people who say NO car companies allow it.
I know cars rented from California Baja ( http://www.cabaja.com/ ) can be driven to Mexico, but you have to be 21. Same with Express Rent a Car. http://www.rentfromexpress.com/car-rental-mexico-san-diego-california.html
I suggest you call or email all the small car rental companies in the San Diego area and see if any can accomodate you. If you are able to rent in San Diego, you can always take the train from LA to San Diego.
