I’m booked with Hertz and it’s expensive. I’m in Canada … but my wife is fluent in Spanish, so we’re happy to go with a local company. Thanks!
I would take the bus… Not a long trip and its much much cheaper.
The local mass transportation in Spain is wonderful

Is it easier/cheaper to rent a car from Melbourne airport or from around town?
Kinda need a car to drive around the surburbs for the time I am here, thanks

It depends which airport your arriving at.
If you are arriving at melb international, I would reccommend looking in the yellow pages and spending 10 mins on the phone getting quotes. This is becasue the airport isn’t that far from town (25 ks) and a taxi won’t cost you too much to get to your rental, and there are also bus services that are even cheaper.
However, if you are flying Jetstar and are arriving at Avalon, DEFINETLY get a car from the airport as your about 1.5 hours out of Melb (and they have a few different companies to choose from)
Here are some helpfull websites.

I’m 19, am I able to rent a car at the airport?
I can buy a plane ticket, but I need to rent a car at the airport. Does anyone know any companys in the terminal that will rent a car to a 19 year old?
Thank you!
I think most places you have to be 25. Part of this makes sense (for their liability and insurance purposes since so many people under age 25 get in accidents). But there may be a company out there who will rent one to people under 25. Like one previous answer said, it will probably cost a ton, though. Call around to different companies.

Should I use Thrify or Dollar to rent a car out of the airport?
Normally I go with Enterprise but their prices are much higher. Thrifty and Dollar have the best prices for car rentals out of the airport. Anyone have a good or bad experience with either at this particular airport? Anything I should know? I will be travelling during the day. Thanks!
With the new rental car facility now complete, all rental car companies that utilize airport traffic directly are located in a building about a mile or so west of the terminals at Sky Harbor and accessed by free shuttle buses that run 24 hours a day between the airport and the car rental facility.
Given that now all of the companies are located in one building, and all the cars housed in the covered parking directly behind the building, other than perks given to frequent renters and prices, they are all pretty much the same. I’ve had a little experience with Dollar, more with Thrifty, and not had a problem with either. (Fox is another one that’s not quite as well known as some of the bigger names, but they operate out of the car rental facility at Sky Harbor as well, and sometimes offer some smokin’ deals.)
Hartsfield-Jackson Rental Car Center Construction – 2008
This video features construction photographs of Hartsfield-Jackson’s CONRAC customer service center (CSC).
More than two million passengers complete rental car transactions each year at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. In order to meet current needs and anticipated demands for rental vehicles, Hartsfield-Jackson is building a state-of-the-art Consolidated Rental Car (CONRAC) facility. When it opens in November 2009 CONRAC will house all Airport rental car companies and their associated operations, including customer service, administrative offices, ready/return parking, fueling and maintenance facilities.
The 67.5 acre CONRAC facility is located across Interstate 85 from the Airport and will connect to the existing passenger terminals via an Automated People Mover (APM) train system. The APM can move more than 10,000 passengers an hour to and from the passenger terminal along the 1.6 mile long elevated guideway. The trip between the terminal and the CONRAC APM station will be approximately five minutes. A stop at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC) will provide direct passenger access to the facility during conventions and events.
By centralizing all rental car operations adjacent to the Airport, CONRAC will eliminate the need for rental agency shuttle buses and dramatically reduce the number of rental cars on terminal roadways. This should help minimize the Airports carbon footprint by improving overall traffic flow around the passenger terminal.
CONRAC is one of several projects included in Hartsfield-Jacksons Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The 10-year, currently $6-plus billion program supports the Airports overall mission by planning, designing, building and maintaining facilities to meet projected growth in domestic and international travel. CIP projects reduce flight delays, increase airfield and terminal capacity, enhance overall customer service, and substantially contribute to Georgias economic development.

How do I rent a car at Mc Carran Airport Las Vegas without having to pay all the airport & other charges, tax?
All of the car rental Co’s charge almost $ 100.00 for taxes, surcharges, and other fees. How can I rent a car for ten days without some of these charges?
Renting a car at the airport is absurdly convenient. The new Rent A Car Center has large shuttle buses running constantly to and from the airport. Fill out the online form to join the frequent renter programs like Hertz #1 Club and Thrifty Blue Chip. Even if you do not rent frequently it’s worth joining since it doesn’t cost anything and you get to bypass the line at the counter. I was driving away in a rental car in less than 30 minutes after getting off the plane my last trip there.
There is an extra tax added to airport rentals that you don’t pay if you rent from another location but the tax is not that much. Something like 9%. But you can avoid it by renting your car from a Las Vegas Blvd. car rental agency (most hotels have them in the lobby) and returning the car at the airport on your way home. I’ve done that several times.
where is the cheapest place in las vegas to rent a car besides the airport?
are there any other places to rent, namely the downtown area? i think i will find better rates at those.
