What is the cheapest way for a tourist to get from Baltimore to downtown DC with out renting a car?
to clarify, what bus line would I take?
Great Answers! I love Yahoo Answers.
there are a couple of different ways depending on what day it is, etc. On the weekdays, you can take the Marc train from Penn Station in Baltimore to Union Station in DC.

This is a commuter train and only runs Monday through Friday. If you’re traveling on the weekend there’s two different options. One is to take an amtrak train (amtrak.com) or you can take the lightrail from Baltimore

to BWI and from BWI catch a metrobus to Greenbelt metro station and take the subway into DC.

Will they charge me for 2 days? Or are there some places where they pro-rate the hours? I would hate to be charged for 2 days when i am only going to use the car for 29 hours. Anyone know any car rental places where they pro-rate the time so that i would only be charged for a day and 5 hours instead of 2 days?
I don’t know about other car company’s but Hertz goes by 24 hour time period, in other words if you pick up the car at 3:00 pm it must be back by 3:00 pm the next day any later and they charge for another day. Hertz will not pro-rate the hours.
We’re staying at the Hyatt (Lahaina/West Maui) and we have a Shuttle to take us from the airport to the hotel the night that we arrive. We need to rent a car for 5 days and Hertz Car Rental is located at our hotel, but they are more expensive than any other car rental company. I found a great price from National Car Rental located near Kapalua Airport, but don’t know if we can get a ride (taxi or shuttle) from our hotel to pick up & drop off a rental car there or is it worth the extra $150 to rent from Hertz. Does anyone know if we can get a ride and is it difficult to arrange?
You can check www.carrentals.net.au for additional car hire companies around your area.
